NorthEnd Senior Center

The BHCA has been the fiscal agent and managing entity for the North End Senior Center (NESC) since 2009.

Under this organization’s management, and the leadership of its Director of Operations, the NESC met and/or exceeded all contractual requirements as well as achieved the following milestones: (1) Reached over 5,000 seniors over a five (5) year period; (2) Avoided the premature institutionalization of over 1000 seniors; (3) Provided over 100,000 hot and nutritious meals; (4) Provided over 12,000 health related screenings; and (5) Provided recreation services to over 7,000 seniors.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Hartford Residents (s): $20 (Individual) / $30 (Couple)

Non-Residents (s): $30 (Individual) / $45 (Couple)

The majority of donations are due on the month of July of Every year. Donations paid after July are due during that month.

NESC MEMBERSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT

(This code of conduct is being established to ensure that members and guests of the Northend Senior Center are treated with respect and dignity)

MEMBERS & GUESTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

• Be considerate of others by addressing each other with dignity, courtesy and respect.

• Respect the centers’ smoke-free environment.

• Refrain from using language that is offensive to others.

• Refrain from destroying or causing destruction to the centers’ facility.

• Adhere to all posted signs inside and outside the facility.

• Eat and drink only in designated areas.

• Respect “1st come” seating at lunch tables.

• Zero tolerance for violent threats or/and indecent language directed against other  members or guests.

• Maintain a level of personal hygiene consistent with generally acceptable standards of health and safety for themselves and others.

• Adhere to the Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP) policies – Only the following may be taken from the site: fruits, baked goods and other foods in individually sealed units that have been protected from contamination.

• All members are expected to wear their assigned ID badge while visiting the center.
