Housing programs
The Housing Department has been focused on three levels of activity. Assisting clients with finding agencies to service their housing needs, i.e. energy assistance, emergency housing funding, home repair, Senior Chores program and directly managing the Neighborhood Healthy Homes Project.

Peer Based Recovery Services
Access to Recovery (ATR) is a presidential initiative which provides vouchers to adults with substance use disorders to help pay for a range of community-based clinical treatment and recovery support services.

Youth Development
The BHCA has worked with youth in various capacities for over 20 years. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYELP), funded by Capital Workforce Partners (CWP), is a natural extension of our mission within the community.
During this six week summer experience, we provide opportunities for approximately 200 participants to increase competencies in the areas of: customer service, job readiness, and interpersonal communications. This is accomplished through meaningful work experiences and classroom trainings.

Outreach Services
Thus far, the partnership has proven to be successful. The success is attributed to the process in which BHCA holds all parties accountable. The outreach team has proven to be successful in it outcomes and in its efforts to provide the North Hartford communities with transparency and vital information in a timely manner.
