Outreach Services

Reaching More People Every Day

BHCA outreach services department are the day to day operation that keeps the organization connected to the people on the ground. BHCA is currently in partnership with MDC on the Clean Water Project to ensure that the residents and business owners in Northeast, Blue Hills, and Farmington Avenue are informed of the day to day operations, and of any unforeseen issues or concerns that may interrupt their quality of life.

Thus far, the partnership has proven to be successful. The success is attributed to the process in which BHCA holds all parties accountable. The outreach team has proven to be successful in it outcomes and in its efforts to provide the North Hartford communities with transparency and vital information in a timely manner.

We have also met with over 300 hundred residents and the Northeast business district in North east and documented their concerns and issues. BHCA conducts follow-ups with the Northeast community and host community meetings for concerned residents, with MDC in attendance. We also flyer the community, host meeting at the MDC field office, attend MDC monthly project meetings, and are accessible 24 hours a day.

Clean Water Project

The Blue Hills Civic Association Outreach Department is the ongoing community liaison for the MDC Clean Water, sewage separation, project affecting the Granby St project areas in Blue Hills.

As well as providing similar liaison services for the Northeast,
West End and West Hartford neighborhoods involved in this massive clean water project. Community meetings in the Blue Hills neighborhood take place every fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm at the Oak Hill School campus auditorium, 120 Holcomb St.

This is an ongoing forum, to inform the neighborhood on the construction schedule and discuss any issues pertaining to the MDC Clean Water Project and its impact on the neighborhood. Any questions or concerns please contact the BHCA Outreach Liaison Ms. Cynthia Hicks at (860) 566-0733 or hicksc@bluehillscivic.org.

For information regarding outreach services in the West End and Northeast communities contact Outreach Services Supervisor Carla Williams at 860 769-3854 or williamsc@bluehillscivic.org.
