Housing Assistance

Click here to download Housing Application

The Blue Hills Neighborhood is the largest home owning neighborhood in the City of Hartford. To address the aging housing stock, we have created a housing department funded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. We will target our efforts to encourage current and prospective residents to modernize and expand their Blue Hills homes; combat blight through neighborhood monitoring program; and work with the neighbors to identify and address issues.

What do we have to offer?

• Housing Fund - a small fund that will offer limited
assistance to families facing foreclosure, rent
payment crisis, or require assistance with security
   deposits.

• Home Improvement - In conjunction with Rebuilding
   Together/Christmas in April
we offer home
improvement workshops that include hands on
   instruction.

• Money Management Series - Information for
homeowners that want to rebuild/maintain credit,
   establish budgets, plan for renovation

• Referrals - Connect with a variety of services
   throughout the city

What do you have to offer:

• Volunteer - Become a part of a block watch or
   neighborhood monitor

• Participate - Maintain your property and assist a
neighbor who may be disabled or elderly

• Initiate - Offer your ideas for new programs in the
   neighborhood through feedback

• Communicate - Let us know of accomplishments or
   concerns in your area
