Prevention
This Fund will provide renters with rental arrearages.
The renter:
• Must currently live in an apartment in the Blue Hills
neighborhood and be threatened with eviction.
• Must submit proof of all family income (one month’s
pay stubs, or current benefit letter) and photo ID,
and other paperwork as eviction notice or “quit notice
to document the nature of the emergency.
• Must provide in writing a description and proof of why
you face eviction. Illness or loss of a job is an
acceptable reason, but applicant must have a
reasonable prospect of renewed income sufficient to
maintain the rental for the long term.
• Grant amount is up to $1000, which in most cases will
be paid to the landlord.
• Financial input from the family may be requested.
• All applications must be completed in all respects;
incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications must be mailed or delivered by the first of
the month to be considered for approval for the
15th of the month.
