The mission of the Capital City Track Club is to provide comprehensive athletic training to Hartford student-athletes, expose more youth to organized sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Our goal is to increase the availability of college scholarship opportunities for Hartford youth. The Capital City Track program is offered to athletes at a modest tuition to pay for uniforms, club memberships and competition opportunities.

Seasonal Training and Competition:

Fall: October, November
Winter: January - March
Spring: April, May
Summer: June - August

Training sessions are held during early evening hours between 4pm and 7pm, throughout the week and Saturday mornings when warranted. These sessions are held mainly at Weaver High School in Hartford. Competition includes track meets throughout the Eastern United States. AAU and USATF membership are required for competing athletes.

Fees: (scholarships and fee waivers available)
$100 for annual membership Or $60 per season.

Director | Lee Hunt Former Head Track Coach, Weaver High

Our Director is one of the most successful coaches in the sport of high school track and field. From 2005 through 2010 Weaver High Track Team members won 12-State Championships, produced 25 All Americans including a National Champion, and more importantly earned over $2 million in college scholarships. The Weaver track team produced five Fox Scholarship award winners and sent 95% of all varsity team members to four year colleges.

Summer Overview

The Capital City Track Club completed an impressive outdoor summer season. Beginning with various youth track meets throughout CT, team members traveled, competed and often won individual medals and awards.

Middle School and High School team members competed at the USATF Region 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Troy NY, where 4 individual champions were crowned and a total of 10 qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympics in Wichita KS The season was capped off by an commanding team performance at the Springfield Youth Olympics (Springfield College) on July 30th.
